ART 162 – University of Alaska Fairbanks
Here’s my images for the first lesson. Unfortunately I’m very sick at the moment so I was only able to get a photograph of one piece of artwork, the other is digital.
On the photographed piece, the trickiest part was getting it aligned perpendicular in front of the DSLR since it’s out of a sketchbook. I ended up setting it up on an art easel and using black clips to hold the page down.
Hello everyone, my name is Olen Seim and I’m currently a fourth year student of anthropology at UAF. I’ve lived in Fairbanks my entire life and have been doing art just about the same amount of time. I’m doing art as my minor degree, mostly just for fun.
In my spare time I like to post stuff from my sketchbook up on my instagram @oeseim (shameless plug), other than that, whenever I’m not being a student; I’m a graphic designer up at the Geophysical Institute’s Design Services. I’m looking forward to meeting you all and seeing other people’s works of art!

This self portrait sums me up pretty well. It was a quick 30 second exercise from my cartooning class this summer.
